Caxton Bowls Club was formed nearly 100 years ago and is homed by the Local printworkers’ Social Club called The Caxton Club which was formed in 1890.

The Club operates on a volunteer basis with a main Management Committee, under the Club Chairman, overseeing all business matters. The Ladies Section and the Short Mat Section have their own committee structures to deal with the day to day detail in their respective areas but representatives from these two sections are members of the Management Committee and report to it.

Founded in 1926 the Club was Bowls England Club of the Year in 2008. It has extensive grounds including superb topiary and borders and a large 18 hole putting course open to the public over the summer.
