We have 60 members and are a very friendly club, as well as bowling in the summer we run Lunch's, Suppers, BBQ's, Quiz`s and other social function throughout the year.

Our club is called Gateway Bowls Club, we were formally Buckland Mill Bowls Club. We lost our original green in 2000 when the paper mill we were attached to closed, we carried on playing at a club in Folkestone for 7 years before we finally managed to join together with Dover Harbour Board Social Club and between us raised the money to put down a new bowling green. After 5 years unfortunately the Social Club closed and we had to ask the Harbour Board if we could lease the bowling green which they kindly agreed to. We renamed our club when we moved to our new green as Gateway because our original badge had a portcullis as its emblem and Dover is the Gateway to England. Buckland Mill B C was formed in 1929 and we were renamed in 2007.
