Founded in 1926 the Club was Bowls England Club of the Year in 2008. It has extensive grounds including superb topiary and borders and a large 18 hole putting course open to the public over the summer.
During the summer months bowling takes place seven days a week after 2pm. There are numerous internal competitions, outside leagues and county competitions as well as a full program of friendly matches against local clubs. Roll ups are held most weekday afternoons.
The Clubhouse is open during the ‘winter’ months for social activities including a Friday Club night, regular Sunday lunches and numerous social and fundraising events. A winter and summer tour is organised. Some indoor matches are also organised against other clubs.
