Ten Good Reason for buying your hiking footwear online

If you have decided to buy Hiking boots before venturing onto the trails the next time around, then it?s one of the best decisions you will have ever made. Your feet will love it and so will you.

But before you head out to the nearest shopping centre to buy hiking footwear, take a minute to read through this article. Why would anyone want to shop for hiking boots in a brick and mortar store when you can get much more options and choices if you shop online?

Here are 10 reasons why shopping online for Hiking Boots is a better choice.

  • I prefer to sit in the comfort of my living room and shop rather than driving for 2 hours through heavy traffic to reach the shopping centre. Shop when you feel like it, even if its midnight. Shop wearing what you want, even if it is your underwear.
  • Better Choices: Brick and Mortar stores are often limited by space constraints and hence have limited inventory. On the other hand, an online hiking footwear store has unlimited space and often have numerous brands and models to choose from. Materials, colours, sizes, and widths, name it and you have it.
  • No Haggling Salesmen: Don’t you just hate that salesman who pressurizes you into buying things you didn?t want to? In an online store, there is no irritating salesman. However if you need to talk with someone then here at New Forest Footwear we are always please to take your call. But please do not expect a pushy salesman we hate them as well.
  • Online hiking footwear stores do not have expenses like prime locations, high staff salaries paying hordes of salesmen waiting to pounce and other high overheads associated with normal shoe and hiking shops. So, these savings are transferred to the customer in the form of reduced costs. Don?t be surprised at all if you find your favourite brand of hiking boots about 40% cheaper than a normal store.
  • Saves time: Needs no explanation.
  • Discounts: Most online footwear stores have regular and timely discounts which include clearance sales, yearend sales, Christmas sales and much more. No matter what they call it, the fact is that the smart consumer can save a buck. Here at New Forest Footwear we offer very special prices when you purchase other items to go with your footwear. We also send all additional items carriage free when purchased with your hiking footwear.
  • 7. Read Reviews: There will be user reviews that inform you about the customer service, the shipping, the product quality, the return policy and any other features of the website. This allows you to read, be informed and make a wise decision about your purchase whereas the only information you have in a physical store location is the salesman?s word which isn?t very reliable, is it?

    8. Informative: Online footwear stores have loads of informative content which gives you in depth information about hiking shoes, prices, sizes, brands and types. Should you opt for an ankle length mountaineering boot or should you stick to a basic hiking boot? You will have the answers and the choices.

    9. Next Day Delivery: Just click that mouse and tomorrow your boots will arrive. You biggest problem for you is to sort the route out for that next outdoor adventure.

    10. Easy Exchange: Not happy with the size or style. It is so simple to exchange or return. No more getting the car out or catching the bus into town in the hope they will have the right size or style. Here at New Forest Footwear we have over 2,000 sq feet of warehouse containing a full range of sizes and styles. We do not list products we do not have in stock. You order your Hiking footwear from us and it arrives the next day. Some of our competitors advertise low prices but do not hold the actually stock. Often their customers have to wait whilst they obtain the goods. Here at New Forest Footwear you pay the low price we state on our Web Site with absolutely no hidden extras and you get exactly the goods you ordered the next day. Take little time to read what our customers have said , their comments are listed under testimonials.

Five Must Try Things while shopping for Hiking Footwear

You enter a brick and mortar hiking gear store and pay high street prices or shop online and save, You maybe as confused as a cow on AstroTurf.

There are more choices than you could ever have imagined and you have just realized that all the information that you got from Google only adds to your woes.

Should you opt for a full blown mountaineering boot or should you stick to a beginners light weight trail boot? Should you listen to the salesman or trust your instinct? Should you try a full grain leather one or one made of a split grain material?

Aaargh!

It?s completely normal to be confused at the overwhelmingly large number of choices available to an average consumer. While there are hiking boot experts, not everybody can be expected to know hiking boot anatomy or construction like the back of their hands.

But there are certain things that you can do to ensure that you have made the right choice of hiking footwear.

Here?s my list of favorite five things to try when you are out hiking boot hunting.

  • Use your Hiking socks : A common mistake that a lot of new shoppers make is to not to wear their hiking socks while trying on their hiking boots. Try your hiking shoes with your socks.
  • Try before you buy: The hiking boot universe is wide and vast. There are several brands like Hi-Tec, GRI Sport and the vast Northwest Territory range which have many different styles. Here at New Forest Footwear we always give full detail on every boot stocked which enables you to make an informed choice. You have the added confidence that should they not be right for you they can be easily exchanged or just returned for a refund. You also have the option of ordering two pairs and returning the ones which suits you least.
  • Walk, Climb, Jump: Depending on the hiking path that you choose, you will be experiencing mildly difficult to extremely difficult terrain and you need to try out your boots by walking up and down stairs. Check to see if your toes are hitting the front of the boot or if your heel is lifting up. Similarly, the jump will tell you how heavy the boots will feel during the journey. Remember, every additional pound on your boot will seem like a dumbbell thrown into your backpack. Here at New forest Footwear we check the quality so you can be assured that your purchase will be a great experience. All our range are manufactured using the latest techniques and are surprising light and comfortable.
  • Fit vs. Style: While its tempting to opt for a stylish boot, it is smart to opt for one that has the right fit and features as opposed to style.
  • Do I choose my normal shoes size?: Opt the size that you normally have for your shoes. All our range of walking boots allows sufficient room for those hiking socks. There must be at least a finger?s space between your large toe and the front of the boot even after you wear your socks.

Once you have taken in all of the above, have a look at the great selection of Waterproof Hiking boots and hiking shoes that New Forest Footwear has to offer!

If you intend to do a lot of walking, it is certainly wise to invest in a decent pair which will provide both protection and comfort.

When considering your purchase, one should focus on the different number of activities you intend doing. Footwear for hiking can be split into 3 categories. It is important to choose the correct type for your chosen.

If you intend to engage in, lightweight walking or just simple day/overnight hiking, then trail shoes or boots that are designed for this purpose tend will be less supportive and less durable than some other boots, but will be perfect and adequate thus suitable for your needs. These focus on comfort, breathability and cushioning they are intended for short to medium walks over fairly easy terrain.

Mid-weight Walking boots are more suitable if you are carrying reasonably light backpacking loads. These are more supportive and durable than lightweight boots but are also intended for short walk over easy or moderate ground.

These provide a great level of ankle support and protect the foot together with offering the very best in durability, support and waterproof protection.

Materials used in Hiking Boots

The material used in the manufacture of hiking boots will have an affect on its durability, breathability and water resistance. The actual type you finally choose will in all probability be down to your own personal preference.

Boots made of nylon mesh with leather boots are lightweight and also breathable which makes them suitable for use in warm to moderate weather climates. Treat your Hiking boots as you would any leather footwear. We recommend that you use a protective spray before their first use (available from us for just £4.99 postage free when purchased with any other product), which is suitable for all leather and suede/nubuck/textile finishes, as this will provide further protection against the elements and help maintain the waterproofing.

Leave to dry naturally as heat will dry out the leather too quickly and may cause deterioration to the surface and other fabrics and protective coatings. Regular cleaning and polishing will prolong the life of your footwear. the ideal polish is Nikwax available from us as just £3.49. Choosing the right hiking/walking boot

In this article we are going to discuss buying hiking boots to suit your needs. You need to buy the correct hiking boots whether you plan on doing light trail walking or whether you plan on doing heavier hiking in rugged terrain. What qualifies as the best hiking boot for you depends on what your needs are, there are different kinds of walking boots for different occasions.

There are many things to consider when buying a pair of hiking boots that are best suited to your needs. Firstly you will need to consider the material that the boot is made from. A good quality hiking boot will always have a leather upper with a waterproof and breathable lining and will always have a tough, durable and non slip rubber out-sole.

When you try your boots on for the first time make sure you lace them up properly so they are tight to your feet. Then tap your feet on the ground to make sure your feet do not slide forward. If your feet are sliding forward you may want to consider a smaller size. If your boots don’t fit you correctly you will end up getting blisters on the feet while hiking. Hiking boots need to be comfortable, should have adequate cushioning and most importantly need to support the ankle.

We also need to take into consideration the climate you intend to go hiking in. Obviously in a colder climates your walking boots will need to have a thick thermal lining to keep the feet warm. In warmer climates you will need hiking boots with air circulation to keep the feet cool.

Our favourite hiking boot at the moment is the Grisport Crater these our top of the range and are built to last and last.
